The Tiger Who Came To Tea Party

When my youngest asked for The Tiger Who Came To Tea by Judith Kerr as her birthday party theme I was so excited! It has been a favourite of mine since I was a child and was one of the first books I bought when I was pregnant. The great thing about throwing a party from a book is all the readily available ideas. I could use the images from the book to decorate the party hat and gift box ( this was a Paperplayground gift box that I painted orange). I painted a large tiger for the backdrop and used the teal, orange, white and black colours of the book to make confetti to go into clear balloons for my balloon garland.

The party food was so fun to make! All of the cookies, cakes and food were inspired by the book. The tin of Tiger Food that Sophie buys at the end of the book was transformed into a chocolate, coconut and raspberry cake, filled with surprise rainbow tiger sprinkles. Decorated Chocolate covered oreos, banana and maple cinnamon buttercream cupcakes, tiny cheese sandwiches and assorted character cookies. Lastly there was a coconut birthday cake of a cookie tiger sitting at a table covered with party food. It was such a fun day, here are some pics x
