My kids have been asking me for a long time to make caramel apples but I had been putting it off as I thought it would be time consuming. I always like things to be quick and easy and when I found pre made Salted Caramel Sauce I had to give it a go with my little helpers. We also found some cute chocolate decorations and the smallest apples. These caramel apples can be used to decorate cakes, have with ice cream or eat as they are but i wouldn’t recommend them for hot days as they can melt.
- Salted Caramel Sauce
- Mini Apples
- Chocolate Decorations
- Mint to garnish
Wash and dry the apples. Spoon some of your caramel sauce into a bowl and microwave for 20 seconds or until its runny. Place your apple into the bowl and use a spoon to drizzle and cover your apple in sticky caramel. Once covered place your apple onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. Sprinkle some chocolate decorations on and place it into the fridge to set. Repeat with your other apples, if your caramel is setting in the bowl place it back into the microwave for a short time. You could also sprinkle other toppings like crushed nuts, coconut flakes or shaved chocolate on top of the apples. Once the caramel is set, garnish with some mint. x
