Sometimes life calls for chocolate cookies and for me the perfect size is an acorn, small enough for a treat for my kids, and the perfect size for popping a sneaky one in my mouth while cooking in the kitchen. Here is my simple chocolate cookie diy.

Ingredients
- Chocolate cookie dough
- Chocolate
- Nuts
- Desiccated coconut
1. Once you have made and chilled your cookie dough roll it out and cut out your acorns with your cookie cutter. I have used a MACStencils acorn cutter. Place the acorns on a lined oven tray and chill them in the fridge for 10 – 15 minutes. Bake and cool.

2. While the cookies are cooling, melt some chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Keep placing back into the microwave for ten seconds and then stirring until the chocolate is runny and smooth. Place the desiccated coconut into a bowl, and the nuts into a bowl.

3. Using a spoon smear some melted chocolate onto the bottom of the acorn to create the shell, then top with a topping of your choice. My kids really love to add the toppings, they also like to eat a lot of the chocolate while you are not looking!
